UK VIKINGS 1970 - 1972
Swansea produced the Vikings at about the same time as Marx in the US. There are some subtle differences.
The hair on the UK Odin is a little darker and slightly redder. Erik's hair is a little lighter yellow and
his eyes are a lighter blue. The main difference is in the skin colour. UK Vikings are pinker than their US
equivalent. The instruction sheet is also different with the UK Vikings. The main reason for this is that
the US sheet shows pictures of the Knight and Viking Castle together with the Mighty Viking Horses. Neither
of these items were sold in the UK so Swansea printed it's own instruction sheet.
All UK Vikings come in Window type 'Knights and Vikings' boxes. These boxes, which they share with the noble
Knights, are incredibly thin and flimsy. How some of them have survived for 30+ years is a miracle. If you
see one buy it because they don't come up very often (any UK window box will do as they are all the same
and not figure specific).
